The Mission of the Alliance for Psychoanalytic Schools is to provide support to existing psychoanalytic schools and those in various stages of development, as well as to provide a forum for individuals interested in promoting the interface of education and psychoanalysis. In so doing, the Alliance for Psychoanalytic Schools may disseminate psychoanalytic ideas and demonstrate the practical applications of psychoanalytic principles.

Walnut Lake Preschool &
A warm, nurturing environment where parents, teachers and child development specialists work together to realize each child’s fullest potential.
“It is a lifetime's work to understand and put words to the ‘whys’ behind behavior. Assisting children in this process not only provides a good beginning for them, but also allows for tremendous development as a teacher. Attention to the inner lives of children is growth-producing for ALL of us, and it is this focus that I deeply value at Allen Creek.”
“Walnut Lake Preschool has been an incredible experience…
I didn’t know where to turn. We looked all over and hadn’t been able to find someone to give us this help…Not just one person but an entire group of people have been able to help us.”
“My three girls could not be more different from each other! Lumin Lindsley Park Community School met the needs for each child by meeting them where they were developmentally and guiding them along a path according to their individual natures…My daughters do well in school and in life and I attribute that to their early exposure to Montessori.”
“At Allen Creek, the curriculum is tailored to the children in the classroom—bringing out their natural curiosity, love of learning, and building their self-identity. Now that we have two older children who are alumni of Allen Creek Preschool, we see how secure they are in their being.”
“I learned that what children need most is to feel understood. They need a witness to their inner emotional experience. Hanna Perkins helped translate this mysterious inner emotional world into something that I could recognize and understand. Once my child felt understood, everything changed. Everything.”
“Our family has found an educational home at Allen Creek. The teachers have welcomed each of our three children where they are—socially, emotionally, and intellectually. With the teachers' help, and the support of the Family Consultants, we have learned more about who our children are as budding students and as individuals.”
“Hanna Perkins Center didn't give me a quick fix. It was hard work but it provided me with a parenting foundation that stands to this day. HPC fundamentally altered the trajectory of my childrens' lives. ”
"The Studio School's Tutorial class stands out to me as an instrumental turning point in my career as a student because, although we did practice straightforward skills, such as writing essays, there was a focus on each individual's development, both as a student and as a person."
"We are thrilled with the way our daughter has developed as an individual and through group interactions. So many elements of The Studio School have been important -- the mixed grades, Morning Group, and the Gatherings class that cuts across all grades. This has been so important to her in developing her ability to express herself, her thoughts, and her needs."
“Allen Creek helped get our family off to a wonderful start. Our children learned to master separation from us and truly enjoy life at school while experiencing a rich, play-based and relationship centered curriculum. The school's foundation integrates a deep understanding of the child.”
